Data Analytics Intern
Creighton University — Analytics and Institutional Research
A full academic year with Creighton’s Analytics and Institutional Research office, the team that produces the university’s institutional data: federal and external reporting, and the data requests, reports and dashboards that departments across campus run on. My first project is rebuilding the office’s workload dashboard in Tableau.
The problem
Analytics and Institutional Research answers data requests from across Creighton while also producing the university’s federal and external reporting, from IPEDS to US News to survey work. Every request that comes in is logged as a ticket, and about three years of them have built up. The office already tracks that work in Tableau, but not how the volume of it has moved over time against the demand coming in.
Overview
I am analyzing more than 1,000 service requests logged since March 2023 to rebuild the office’s Tableau workload dashboard, adding views on workload, turnaround time, and hours by request type.
The data is still being cleaned and profiled. Nothing is finished and nothing has been delivered.

Creighton University · Aug 2026 – Dec 2026
A semester-long interdisciplinary practicum built around the BlueBox, a Raspberry Pi server that delivers educational content to schools without reliable internet. On the technology track I do two things: configure the unit that travels to the Dominican Republic in October, and build a new module of my own for it, an introductory data analysis site in Spanish.
